Because ultraviolet sterilization has the characteristics of broad-spectrum, no chemical residue, non-toxic, non-flammable, non-explosive, simple operation, and no labor consumption. Ultraviolet disinfection lamps have begun to enter the public's field of vision, and more and more people have begun to buy some small ultraviolet disinfection lamps for daily home disinfection. However, can you be sure that the UV disinfection lamp you buy can really sterilize?

In fact, only ultraviolet rays in the UVC band can sterilize! Ultraviolet sterilization is the molecular structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (ribonucleic acid) in bacteria and viruses that is most effective in the ultraviolet wavelength range of 240~280nm (UVC band), resulting in growth cell death and (or) regeneration. Cell death, to achieve the effect of sterilization and disinfection. Especially when the wavelength is 253.7, the bactericidal effect of ultraviolet rays is the strongest.

In addition to short-wave ultraviolet UVC, ultraviolet rays also include long-wave ultraviolet (UVA) and medium-wave ultraviolet (UVB), with wavelengths of 320~400nm and 280~320nm respectively.

UVA has strong penetrating ability and can reach the dermis layer of the skin. On the one hand, UVA directly converts the melanin precursor in the skin into melanin, which makes the skin quickly darken; The effect will cause greater oxidative stress on the skin and cause collagen, elastin and DNA damage in the skin, resulting in skin aging, loss of elasticity, and wrinkles

UVB mainly acts on the surface of the skin. UVB activates tyrosinase in the melanocytes of the basal layer of the epidermis to synthesize melanin. After the formation of melanin, it gradually migrates to the outermost layer, causing the skin to darken, erythema, or sunburn. In short, UVA and UVB are both harmful to human skin.

The UV lamps of excellent disinfection lamps mainly rely on short-wave UVC 254nm. If UVA 365nm UV lamps are used to illuminate the UV sensor card, although the color of the card is very deep, it cannot actually play a role in sterilization. Therefore, the darker the color on the induction card, it does not mean that the ultraviolet lamp is a disinfection lamp, or that the disinfection effect of the ultraviolet lamp is very good!
